Percentage Power on the Control panel?

Post by JamesW »

Hi All,

I now have two 3060s set up to run in parallel - but they're radically different in characteristics. Despite a significant amount of cleaning, tweaking, aligning, testing, one seems to give out more power than the other.

I'm guessing that there's something very different about either the lenses or laser tubes. Anyway, let's just live with that, eh?

So - if I want to produce one design on both lasers, I need to set the power marginally differently.

But I REALLY don't want to mess around with two separate .ECP files... What I'd like to be able to do is set the settings correctly for the less powerful laser, and then multiply the power on the more powerful laser by... well, I guess I'll start at 90%... by using the control panel on the machine.

Can I, and if so, how do I, do this? When I use the control panel now, I can set the power to N% / N% (I presume 90% / 100%) but the outputs hop back to 100% / 100% as soon as I press "Start".

And what do the two percentage numbers mean anyway? Are they proportions (i.e. 90% out of 100%) or are they two settings (say, one for line cutting power and one for corner cutting power)?

All the best,

James

Hi James,

The control panel is a percentage of the machines maximum power,

The software is a percentage of the control panel setting.

cheers

Dave

Thanks Dave,

I still have the problem of the percentage displayed hopping back to 100% / 100% as soon as I start cutting.

Is this just a quirk of the control panel's display, or am I not understanding something? I'm wondering whether I have to press "save" on the control panel, or something - a long press followed by a beep, or something?

Best,

James
