Hi Folks,

been away for a while working to push my little business forward.

Does anyone know if it is possible to laser engrave on anodised aluminium????

Yes. But all it does is remove the anodising. I have done it myself on a piece I got to test. So black will show up the aluminium as you remove the anodisation. 908ltd supply trophy aluminium for this purpose (and where I got a sample from last time I was in there)

It doesn't remove it Phil, it leeches the colour out of it :)

Home anodising is pretty easy and can be set up for around £50 in total if you ever want to have a go at it, a few simple items and a bucket is all it takes :)

best wishes

Dave

I was going to set up my own anodising, but realised I had nothing to actually anodise . . . . . apart from stuff just lying around

I did quite a bit of it on gun parts, comes out well even using Dylon clothing dye instead of the acid black dye that costs an arm and a leg :)

Anodising titanium was fun, it's done in a bucket full of coca cola :) the colours are a product of the voltage used :)

cheers

Dave

ps: nice to see you Ali :)
