Basic help with drawing please

Post by Izzy »

Hi,

I need some basic help on how to start off please, I have pictures in my head but I'm a terrible drawer is that going to be a problem? I have these ideas but have no idea of how to get them from my head to the computer screen please help me!

I'm guessing I have to do it in autocad I'm just not sure how, are there any tutorials out there? If I can't do something basic like a heart then who knows how I'm meant to do fancy cupcakes etc....

Can you tell I'm panicking? Lol

Go with draftsite Izzy :)

AutoCAD for commercial use is expensive :( Draftsite is FREE :) and basically the same thing.

Download a copy and just fiddle for a couple of days, if you want to mail me direct I'll send you a help file :)

best wishes

Dave

Morning Izzy,
I'd go with Dave on the expensive and complicated. I know its not popular on this forum, but I'd probably nudge you towards an older version of coral draw ( 30ish quid on eBay ) its good at both graphics and vectors and for file converting. As for learning, try the biggest teacher on the net, YouTube. That is the biggest challenge wringing things out of the grey matter into a computer! also you could look that drawing tablets. Hope that helps a bit : )
Cheers Simon

Although not 'fashionable' with the pros I use Coral Draw because I found it the easiest to learn (lots of help on the web) and needed to process photos and use a lot of bitmaps for my models. The only way to learn I'm afraid is to have a go and spend some time playing. It's amazing what you can do with straight lines, squares and circles when your learning!

Good luck!
