LS3020 drivers?

Post by PhillyDee »

Grrr.
Got new PC.
Got newlydraw, but will not send to the laser. Logic port error. Shows up as a USB Device. Cannot find any damn drivers for it anywhere.

Help.

Glad you're sorted! ;-)

The drivers seem to be for the Philips LPC214 ARM microcontroller - I assume because it is not a popular device microsoft did not include it. I can't find a windows 7 update for it - I wonder if I contact Phillips.... will let you know how I get on ;-)

Cheers

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm having similar problems. I am trying to get an LS3020 working but am having problems installing drivers on a 32-bit Windows XP Atom-based netbook.

I have Newlydraw on a CD marked 'HPC Laser Ltd Software'. That installs fine, as does the dongle, but it isn't able to engrave without drivers for the laser.

I have the following set of drivers on a CD marked HPC Laser 3020 driver:
  • 36fc.reg
  • lpc214x.inf
  • lpc214x.reg
  • lpc214x.sys
  • Vid_0471&Pid_0999.reg
When I plug the laser in I get a 'USB device' found, but the Add new hardware wizard fails to find drivers regardless of whether it searches for them itself, or I point it at the set above. Attempting to right-click install lpc21x.inf proceeds silently, but doesn't seem to do the trick. Installing the .reg files manually fails for Vid_0471&Pid_0999.reg with "Cannot import", "error accessing the registry".

Are the drivers I've got supposed to be for Windows XP? Are there some newer/better drivers available? Any other bright ideas?
