LS3020 not cutting?!

Post by Shelleymariex »

Hi all!

I've just started cutting on my LS3020 and nothing is cutting! Everything comes out looking engraved. Please can someone help? I use newlydraw not sure if it's something to do with the settings? I'm new to this so any advise is appreciated please

Thank you

What file type are you trying to cut?

Hi Dave, all are DXF or Newlydraw files. It engraves fine but the cut doesn't go through at all

So when you start the job does the head move around following the image or does it move left to right like it is scanning?

What speed setting are you using and have you focused using the ruler than came with the machine?

Best

No, it does it like it is cutting it, but just doesn't do it deeply. I left a properties as it was when I got it which said speed 4, I have also tried 6 and 8 but made no difference, also set laser head 62mm as I believe it said in manual?

I can't remember a lot but where did you measure the gap from? (It should be the top of the plate the head mirror is on to the material).

Speed sounds too slow as will - 3mm mdf would be about 12. Wind the power pot back (anti clockwise) then count 6 full turns to start with (so about 60%).

Done 6 turns with a speed of 12 and still nothing :(

Try a ramp test (search the forum or on google to show you how to do it ;) )

I have just had a thought, currently my machine is resting on two strong boxes either side until I can get my hands on a desk, could it be this?

I promise once I get this sorted you wont hear another peep from me :P

I would be surprised - if it is level and not moving anyway ;)
