Hi.
I have an Ls3020 and im not quite sure how to maintain this properly. Recently i have noticed that on both the x and y axis, if i move it by hand it has started to stick a little towards the far right of the x axis and the top of the y axis. I would say about the last 20 - 30 mm on both. Sometimes when i reset the machine its reset position changes by 10mm, Sometimes it resets so its almost touching the top of the machine when it resets and other times it is 10 mm lower. I was just wondering if any one else has similar issues or if anyone has any detailed instructions on how to maintain this machine that i can follow.
Thanks in advance
Richard

Re: Maintenance
Simple maintnenance
1. Clean the internals weekly. Remove all dust, contaminants with baby wipes, or an isopropanol fluid on a cloth.
2. Because you have removed any lubrication, I would re-apply using a minimum of a 3-in-1 oil. Do not use WD40, it is not a lubricant.
Monthly
1. Check belt tensions. Check alignment (unless it has been knocked or overtravelled in wich case check immediatly afterwards.
As for your problem, with the power off, move the axis by hand. It should be smooth. If not, find out why. It could be the wires snagging, damaged slides (unlikely) or belt tensions. Have a good check. Sometimes the catepillar type tracks that hold cables and pipes can jam, or not be as free as they should.
