Quick Tip / Acrylic scratches

Post by Daven »

Hopefully not teaching grandma to suck eggs but here goes ;-)

I had a need to removed some scratches in some acrylic parts I had cut today (coloured) - I use an abrasive system called Micro Mesh when finishing wooden pens I turn. You get 9 double sided pads ranging from 1500 to 12000 grit that can be used wet or dry. They last ages and I have even put them in the wash (with SWMBO permission  ) which gives them a new lease of life.

They worked really well without too much work but I also finished off using a fluid for restoring mobile phone screens I purchased via ebay.

The pads are available from most woodworking shops but I get mine here - I have no connection with the supplier other than using him a few times.

Hope this helps ;-)
