Re: Why is my laser not cutting square?

For my two pen'orth it sounds as if the "Traversing Arm" (the lump that runs from the back of the table to the front) has moved and isn't square to the table - hence the Laser/Mirror Carriage doesn't travel true at 90 degrees!

As Dave said, probably something has moved or is loose!

Re: Question about LS3020 "pro"

I agree with Dave! Get the biggest you can afford - I was originally looking at the A4 bed size but opted for the A3+ (6040???). I haven't seriously got it going "commercially" - due to being so busy with my "day" job - but all that is set to change. And so at some point i'll be ...

Re: No experience of lasers, how do I start?

I agree with Dave/Spooky (why spooky? Are You really that scary? )! I was originally going to go for the A$ size - but decided the A3 was better in terms of cutting and size capacity! Although you may think you only want to cut small items I reckon once you realise the potential of these mac...

Re: DXF import.

I know it's a pain - and takes time - but I've resigned myself to "tracing" over my final AutoCAD drawing when I'm happy with the end result. What I mean by that is that i create a new layer and then re-draw over all the lines IN THE ORDER THAT I WANT THEM TO BE CUT! Once that's done I del...

Re: Engraving Text with AutoCad

I use AutoCAD - and the only way I've found is to use the "EXPLODE" command. This breaks the letters down to Vector Lines - but it will revert the font to basic AutoCAD default. You might try changing your settings in AutoCAD (default font) to overcome this. Alternatively - if you have a 3...

Re: dxf files

Hi Mark, DXF files have a habit of changing scale when converted from other programs - unless the originator AND the recipient have settings fixed at 1:1 scale. The problem can usually be alleviated or overcome by scaling the image to suit on whatever software you are using to send the files to the ...

Re: Cooling Water

For my two penn'orth ... ! I live in an area where the water is quite soft! Never had problems with furry kettles or such, and I use good ol' tap water! I never even considered using distilled water - I've not seen it in any manual - but if I had a problem I would look at putting maybe clear vinegar...

Re: Setting list for cutting materials?!?

I agree! Where possible i got through thicker material in several cuts. Providing there is no tendency for the material to move or curl (has happened with some thin plastics!!!) this generally gives a good result!

I try not to let time be an issue - I keep a few other tasks to hand when i can!
