I'm a bit of an apple addict like most of you on here, i have tried to breathe life into an old Windows Vista laptop that i had lying around, but its no good, keeps crashing whilst 'doing stuff' in LaserCut etc etc.
So, have bit the bullet and going to spend a few pennies on a new Windows Laptop, i have not bought Windows for donkeys years!! Is there anything i need to steer clear of in regards to compatibility with the machine (LS6030) and LaserCut 5.3 itself??
32 bit/64 bit
Windows 7? 8? etc etc
This is the one i have my eye on, can't beat a few Clubcard Points in the process
Funny enough I have just bought a new Dell laptop. Win 8.1. I have installed Lasercut on it with no problem but not tried it on the laser as I have a PC for the lasers which I send the work to.
If I get a chance I will try it but as far as I know the 3060 will be fine.
Best
Dave

Yeah Newlydraw which the smaller LS3020 runs off is older software so does not like Windows 64 bit.

I've got a dell win7 32bit runs no problem
An acer win8 64bit had too turn of digital signatures off (i think ) but no problem after that
Windows Vista as backup but i have to save every job and give every job a name of that pile of junk to work
Yes, good point, Tom - we've had trouble sometimes with that. If running from a laptop, it's worth running it off the power supply, then take a peek at the power saving settings in the Control Panel - you can usually set things up so that the power saving stuff only kicks in if you're running off the battery, but won't start turning things on and off at random if you have mains power. Seems to be quite a common problem with a lot of "unusual" USB devices - they don't always recover properly when the PC "wakes up" after they've been dormant for a while.
