Laser pointer not working

Hi there, on my HPC Laser cutter, the red dot (the laser pointer) as stopped working, it starting turning off when passing certain parts of the laser bed and now has gone off completely, at a guess I would of thought it could be a loose connection but I can't see anything obvious. Any ideas on what it could be? Or am I best getting somebody out to have a look?

Could be a broken wire somewhere along the length of the black chain belt that it runs inside.
