Does anyone know if it's possible to lasercut vinyll sheets? I've got a feeling it might be toxic but I need a coloured material that looks similar to acrylic but is thin enough to glue onto an engraved surface. Does anyone have any suggestions?

In a word...NO

Vinyl is the V in PVC and gives off toxic and corrosive gas when lasered.
