I have a 8640 and wondered if it was possible to connect it to a network via a printer hub, has anyone else tried this?

A better option would be to use dropbox and teamviewer to connect remotely.

Ive never heard of that, I will look it up on www.

Drop box isn't what im after.

What I want to achieve is a system where I have a couple of usb type dongles that could be plugged into a usb hub one end and inthe lasers usb connection so that the computer is totally wirelessly separated but still able to download information to the laser.

What i use is drop box to keep all files synched between laptop, pc, and laser computer. Whenever a file is updated or uploaded, the copies on the drop box also change. I can then log into the pc with team viewer (all my pcs have this on) and remotely use the laser pc as if you are sitting in front of it. Since you still need to manually load the laser, and physically be there to press go i think this would be the ideal solution.

I think I see what you are after, and there may be a couple of things to try...leave it with me and I'll see what I can come up with.

It is possible to start / pause and stop the machine remotely and move the gantry around (although I wouldn't say it's a good idea) (fires an all) via lasercut but could it be done via wireless....that would be the problem.

Instructions can be parsed to remote machines (or rather software installed on remote machines) via wireless for sure.

I'll have a look at it during the week to see what I can come up with.
