Hi all,
Trying to get my hands on decent laserable plywood. 3mm for preference, though 4mm would do in a pinch.
I've used standard exterior ply from DIY places and it's passable, but not excellent.
I tried spending the extra to get "laser ply" from, here http://www.mindsetsonline.co.uk/product ... ts_id=1249
awful stuff, really bad.
All other places I've seen advertising lasererable plywood have a caveat on the site ranging from "3mm nominal, expect variations between 2.6mm and 4.0mm across a sheet" to "wood will not be flat, and should be clamped before cutting" Or have prices in the laughable to offensive range.
Is there anywhere that's good or should I be heading back to B&Q ?
materials sourcing ?

Re: materials sourcing ?
B&Q ply isn't laser ply
Try Chris at HPC, he has a load of high speed ply in designed for laser cutting.
Sadly no ply will remain flat, nature of the beast I'm afraid.
best wishes
Dave
ps: Hobarts and Hindleys also sell ply.

Please note I am not employed by HPC, any advice or recomendations I give are based on my own experience and are not necessarily the same as HPC's. First point of contact on any hardware issues should be with HPC

I know how you feel about ply. Its fantastic stuff, but suffers from not bloody flat synfrome.
