Lasercut 5.3 designing templates

Hi,

We have just had an LS6040 installed and we're having a bit of trouble designing new cutting templates for it.
They only have to be basic squares and rectangles in a grid but without the rulers it is making it a nightmare to get the lines to connect. We can draw a rectangle and copy it into a board full but then the machine is cutting each one individually instead of full lines horizontally and then vertically like the LS3020 does. Is there a way of doing this easily? Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

You can use an array function, or if you press space Bar while the shape is highlighted, you you an choose positions

The problem with the array function is that if you draw out a square 30x30mm say, and then array it, the machine will cut every square individually, so the lines where the squares meet will get lasered twice, wasting time. We were wanting to create a grid pattern of horizontals and verticals to make it quicker.

I think we've sorted it now, thanks for the advice though.

Next question, I'm sure the chap told me during the install, but how do you change the direction of the cut on a line? In the software they've all got little arrows on them showing the direction, but I can't seem to find a way to flip the arrow?

The array (next to the calculate and path icon top right) can be set with a gap between.

Spacebar when selecting an item gives a few different options depending on the mode you are in. I do not have my dongle with me so I cannot look for it!
