System won't start

Good afternoon,

I'm hoping someone can help me, I have a LS3020 it is a few years old now but I still use it from time to time.

The last few times I've used it, the screen shows "system starting please wait" it's version V4.0.3, and does eventually load up the last project, but today it won't go past that screen. I've waited a good half hour, and also tried power cycling it a few times but it won't go past the load up screen?

Any ideas of what it could be that's wrong?

Thank you

Does the head move and datum? It could be the switches are sticking so the MCB is not getting feedback to where the head is but it could also be something like a loose connector on the board (MCB).

Hi Dave,

Yes the head moves to the datum when powering on every time.

In the end I got it to run by putting a fan up to the intake grill where the pcb section is. It wasn't hot as I'd only just turned it on but I thought I'd give it a try.

At first it wasn't responding straight away to the different buttons I was pressing, and also after I did the first cut, the beep stayed on continously so I powered down on the key switch.

After a few minutes I tried it again and in the end it was responding like normal so maybe a temperature problem with the circuit board???

Thanks for your reply 👍

Cheers

I guess it could be but I have not seen temp issues on my machines and the workshop get quite hot so I suspect it is more likely to be a connection issue with the plugs on the pad to the MCB. It may also be a cold joint on the boards somewhere....

Best
Dave

OK, I'll have a look into it.

Thanks again Dave 👍
