Laser wondering off mid-job

Hi there
My laser is wondering off mid-job.
I either manage to get a few lines engraved and then it wonders off, or even worse, I get to the end of a relatively long engraving and then it just decides to do its own thing.
Water temp is fine, table is 'almost' level, recently oiled railings ...
Any ideas please?
I have an LS3040.

It maybe a memory issue - is there old jobs in the memory or is the file large? Does it do it on a small line of text sey in the middle of the table?

Mmh, maybe it was the memory.
I did clear the memory and actually managed to finish a number of jobs.
I’m so shattered ... I can’t remember if I had the issue after clearing out the memory too

This morning, I had 4 relatively small jobs in the memory on the machine and the laser stopped midway, so don't think it's a memory issue.
Any other ideas?
