Importing with exact size

I'm guessing there's a really obvious answer to this, but I just can't see it!
How can I import an image into Lasercut without the dimensions changing? Let's say a simple 25mm x 50mm rectangle - when drawn at that size in AI or Inkscape, then exported as a png, bmp, dxf, always ends up a different size when imported into LC. I know I can draw the shape the correct size in LC, but surely there's an easy way to do this? Is it something to do with resolution?

Sounds like you have some sort of scaling, or inches>mm issue.
What size does a 100mm square arrive into Lasercut?

Hi PD
I've tried all sorts of combos - all different sizes, but none as they should be!

Check the 'unit's of the software you use to design - they should match Lasercut as in MM.
Some software uses a unit - that unit can be cm, mm, inches, pt, pixel....
In Inkscape - look at 'Document properties' for example and have a play with the settings to see if that helps.
To be honest I tend to re-scale in LC rather than edit the image
Best

Trying to find out the error first. What size is it in lc when imported

Not sure if this helps but...
With inkcape, when you export the dxf file make sure the export units are mm and not pixels or inches... this bit me a few times before I realised....
