6040 Not Cutting Help Please

I've had a lot of trouble with 2mm mdf lately and suggest the following sanity check: Draw 6 shapes and assign each one a different layer/colour. Set a speed of say 8 and assign each colour a power of 10, 25, 40, 55, 70, 85. I was surprised to find that 30 -45 was way better that 75% or higher. Once you have your optimum power then try that as a constant and vary the speed say 2, 5 , 8 , 12, 16, 20 for example. Note the best one. That just leaves the focus -try a range and you should be able to home in an optimum. Be careful though as this will only work on one manufacturer's stuff - do it again for another's offering!
