Chlorine and Chlorine by-products concentration level is an issue, and will shorten the shelf/working life of your silicone hose, (Which by the way is approx. 8 Years, dependent upon pressure/media) It's Going to kill mould alright, but will weaken your hose over time. Give a thought to Food Grade silicone hose when Time comes to change out your hoses, It has a internal coating that stops mould growth and formation.

Incidentally there are parts in the water pump that are Polypropylene.
