Bulbs and Vents

Post by glenboy »

Hi Y'all,

Hope everyone is enjoying the rain! Which leads me onto my first question.

Currently I just dangle a flexible (5") hose out of the window for my vent. It's ok. I get a bit of smoke blown back in on windy days but more recently the horizontal rain we have been experiencing is posing more of a problem!! I just had a glazier round to get a price to fit a vent through my double glazed window onto which I can fit my 5" hose. He reckons that there isn't any "of the shelf" item I can use for this application and that the best they could do is get a unit with a 5 inch hole, put the hose through and "make good" with a tube of silicone. I can't help but think thats gonna look god awful!!!

My question is does anyone know of (or use) an off the shelf vent that can be installed into a double glazed unit? I had a little look and I'm starting to think the guy might be right?? :? SWMBO will take some persuading to go forth with the silicone mess...

Another question: where can i purchase a replacement bulb for my 3020? The bulb went and I pulled it out but there are no markings....

Any help welcome,
Glen

Can you not just rip the gubbins out of a cheap extractor fan? There are plenty which sit in window holes.
