Hi - just translated (via google) the page in the manual supplied with the 3020 (the font was set to Arabic by the looks of it!).
I have attached it but would appreciate confirmation it is correct.
Edit - re attached it, hope it works now!
Thanks
Dave

Re: Speed and Power Settings in 3020 manual
I'm guessing they are in the following format....
3mm Birch Ply 200 17 5 100
200 speed 17 power for engraving
5 speed 100 power for cutting
If so I'd say they are on the high side a touch?
You have a 40 watt tube??
Based on 40 watt tubes I run
200 speed 10 power for engraving on birch ply (3mm)
15 speed power 60 for cutting birch ply (3mm)
Looking at those power settings they will work but your running your tube at 100% all the time, that's going to shorten tube life by quite a bit. Where possible my friend always go for the lowest power you can accept (allowing for job run time) it will reduce heat up on the cooling system and reduce wear on your tube.
Speed is defined in MM's per second and power as a % of tube maximums and those figures are all at 100% on the power
If your not getting a full cut through at say 60% to 70% power I'd be tempted to reduce speed rather than increase power to be honest.(you will also reduce heat warping on plastic and scorching on wood by using less power)
hope that helps a little
best wishes
Dave

Re: Speed and Power Settings in 3020 manual
Thanks Dave - It doesn't help a little - it helps a lot
Yes I have a 40w tube. I did think they were a bit high as I was typing after hearing about tube life so thanks for confirming.
It doesn't mention the current regulator settings - does that override the power settings or is full on equal to the % set in the software (if you know what I mean). Sorry if thats a dumb question, maybe we should write a new manual
Cheers
