Quiet(er) extraction

Post by WyeModels »

I have a 6030 with one of the Pro extractor units, whilst this is seems to do an adequate job of extraction, it is noisy, has anybody devised an extraction setup with less noise?
Im thinking of making an MDF outer case lined with something like kingspan to reduce the effect, any thoughts?

Hiya,

"pro" extractor? do you mean the double tube version or the bofa filter unit?

best wishes

Sorry I should have been clearer, Not the BOFA, it is a red unit with an intake from the laser and an output to the atmosphere. Chris gave it to me at the time of purchase as a replacement for the standard unit.

Hiya,

An enclosure wil help (assuming you leave enough room for motor cooling airflow) but much of the noise is the air moving and not actually from the fan unit.

best wishes
