HELP!! New 3020 User

Post by paper&lace »

Hi everyone

have just purchased the 3020 and am having some difficulity all ready

We have managed to get it to engrave, but cant figure out how to get it to cut!?

Also we have tried changing the speed but what ever we put in, makes no difference at all, its allways the same speed!

Where abouts do we enter the speed?, as I see there are several boxes that refer to speed!?

Help!! am feeling frustrated all ready :| and was so excited about using the laser!!

thanks, Sam

Hi Sam and welcome.

Have a look at this post which contains some useful tips ;-)

Ignore the power setting in Newlydraw - power is controlled via the pot.

If you still have problems let us know ;-)

Cheers

Just thought - what file type are you trying to cut - did you import a DXF or draw something in ND?

Hi Dave

thanks for your quick reply! :)

This might sound stupid but what is the 'pot'? im guessing it is the knob on the control panel on the machine?

At the moment we are just trying to cut out text we are writing in ND, as having trouble inporting stuff too.

I will have a look at the link too, thanks :D

Hi Sam - yes the pot is short for potentiometer - I was just being lazy.

If the screen is different can you confirm you have NewlyDraw, Lasercut or another system?

Hi Dave

I actually got it to cut earlier!!

Worked out the speed using the properties box.
