"Expand Scale"?

Post by JamesW »

Hi All,

What does the Lasercut 5.3 "Expand Scale" checkbox actually do? It's in the options box for engraving, but I've not worked out what it's for.

Thanks,

James

Apparently:-

"Expand scale: mainly used to compensate small letters, whose transverse stroke is smaller than the actual size. It can be adjusted to positive or negative figures according to the situation."

Hi Dave,

I see (or rather I don't!) I'll take this to mean:

Lasering some tiny characters? Do they look a bit lame? Try pressing this button and see if they're any better.

Cheers!

Your guess is a good as mine - I have never used it to be honest ;)

If transverse is 'across' or 'in a cross direction' and stroke being a line and it is smaller than the actual size I can't think of any text that will apply! ;)

Maybe lost in Chinese to English and could just stretch the object - if I get a chance I will have a play!

Had a play with this - I would post picture but no point - I can see no discernible difference between 4 versions.

I use text 'OXO' both as vector and raster - engraved as normal then tried the expand option at 15 then 70 then minus 70!

Wonder if it could be useful of photographs.....
