Re: FIRE in the machine!

The other cable, as you have stated, is for the magnetic sensor for the main lid. That is normally fastened to the roof of the cabinet, but it ...

Re: Engraving Autocad Annotation Text
Try a speed other than 5. If the tiny lines are considered separate, individual lines - i.e. each has there own start point - try using Tools -> Unite lines to merge them into one path. I would normally do text as an engraving, rather than a kiss cut, but it might depend on the font. A single-line f...

Re: starting position of laser
Above the Download button in the Lasercut program, there is a checkbox labelled 'Immediate'. Tick the box before you send your file to the laser and it will run the file from wherever you position the laser head. It is capable of higher speeds, but you are more likely to encounter errors with the engraving quality if you run it too quickly, and it can negatively affect parts like the bearings. I am ass...

If it needs updating, it normally shows as Other Devices as EZ-USB FX2.
Moves to USBs as LTSlave USB Driver once it is working.

You need to install/update the drivers for the laser. Best done through Device Manager.

Re: How to close lines?
In Lasercut, Tools > Unite lines at Tolerance 0.01 will usually close any gaps that should not be there, but as Dave says, this is not really for joining lines, it is used when what should be one line is broken into several. If you are trying to engrave a line though, you would need to set it to Cut...
