LS3040 extraction / bed problems

Was cutting some ply today, quite complex parts using a full sheet of A3 ply when part way thru the unburnt gas produced flashed off with big pop and lifted the sheet off the honeycomb. Lifted the honeycomb off to clean up and saw that the extraction slot is level with the top of the honeycomb but t...

Re: USB Dongle Not working anymore

Bit annoying having to have one in the first place. I mean the machine is a dongle in a way, without a machine you cannot cut anything anyway. I'd love to have a copy of Lasercut on my office machine so i could program the odd job at night then take the ESP file over to the workshop following day an...

Re: Nylon wheel tension screws

I had the same problem with my 3040 and it was sorted back at base to my satisfaction as it was still a new machine. Can't say enough about the service from Chris and Co but as a design engineer I feel the overall design of the gantry is poor, nothing to do with HPC unless they can get a design chan...

Re: Looking for some cardboard box software

To answer my own post [ sign of a demented mind ? ] with some help from the Sawcreek forum, Matt over there suggested that Inkscape had a built in extension to do this. Extension > Raster > Fold box

Re: Machining operations on a 3040

Many thanks, all makes sense now.

Anyone got a link to a current manual, found a couple on the web but the screen shots are not up to date with mine.
Appreciated.

Machining operations on a 3040

LS3040 with Lasercut 5.3
There are 4 machining operations, cut, engrave, gradient fill and hole. Believe it or not read the book but no mention of what the latter two operations do.
Any clues please ?

Re: Looking for some cardboard box software

Thanks, book marked it for later but was wanting cardboard boxes, probably quicker to design my own. I'm sure I saw a similar site but just for boxes ? Incidentally V Carve Pro and Cut 2D from Vectric will open a PDF file and then export it to a DXF with out doing any work. I don't have Corel draw a...

Looking for some cardboard box software

Something cheap to do small boxes that slot together for small parts to fit inside drawers in a workshop.

Many thanks.
