Tips for cutting paper/card?

Hi everyone, I have an LS3020 pro LSCT and I'm trying to cut 300gsm pearlised paper to make invites. I have successfully managed to cut it and reduce the amount of back flare from the honey comb bed, but I'm getting charred edges and a lot of soot which is collecting on the top of the card which transfers to your fingers when you pick it up, not good! I've got the power setting of 14 which is just enough to go through the card and speed 25.
Has anyone got any tips on how to overcome this? I've read on other forms about changing lens to a 40mm and also changing the frequency, but any help would be great.

I cut some cards for our corporate christmas cards this year. I put a sheet of perspex underneath the card and just increased speed/reduced power until I minimised the charring.

The perspex removed any flashback but was unusable after. I used a white sheet of perspex and there was some minimal transfer of white where after cutting 50 cards the perspex had got warm but I suspect using clear this could be negated.

Alternatively then I think you will be looking at a pin bed.

Is your air assist on?

Thanks for that I'll give it a go with the perspex underneath. Air assist is on. I'll try increasing the speed and see what happens. Any suggestions on speed setting?

I think my settings would differ from yours as I'm on a ls3060 with a 60w tube. My settings were fast and low.
Small changes in bed height had quite an impact on mine too

I was always told its the chalk content in the card that makes it soot up. i've tried different cards with different outcomes

That will make the spot smaller but on a DC glass tube using normal Chinese software you cannot change the frequency safely without damaging the machine.
