please help? i have a poorly LS6840, you know the lights that you use to focus the laser using the z arrows (i think these are smaller powered lasers, or are they leds?); they aren't working, yet the rest of the machine seems to be working fine, any advice muchly appreiciated, i have lots of classes queing up to cut project work and deadlines are fast approaching

Hi Jason,
They are small lasers (reds) how old is the machine? (A lose or trapped / cut wire can stop them working) also check the two tiny holes the tiny beams come out of, they often get clogged by muck from running the machine.
You can focus the machine manually if the lasers have died by making a simple square of acrylic and setting the height from a known position on the laser head.
best wishes
Dave

thank you, Dave
are they two seperate lasers? because they have both gone at exactly the same time i have ruled out the clogging aspect...
i have made a guage of sorts, but obviously this is awkward in comparisson to using the lights, and i checked wires but can't see any obvious issue,
the machine is less than a year old so i will get back to the supplier,
thanks again
jason
