Hi
I have a sample i need to produce for a client which has to be accurate as it is for scale modelling.
I will produce the cut file using auto cad and then import the dxf file into the laser cutting software to cut the item.

The item is small around 20mm x 15mm and needs to come out that size, i am interested in the cut out piece,

does anyone know what offset i.e. the width of the laser cut that i will need to apply to my drawing file so that it comes out the correct size.

Thanks

Gary

Hi Gary,

Depends on the tube I guess but I normally offset at .25 - say if the kerf is .5 of a mm this would be half. Think spooky put a post up about this a while ago, will see if I can find it ;)

Cheers

Dave
