Ok, this is a bit strange but instead of geting just an amp or two on a quarter to one third turn the power fluctuates up to over 10 amps, considering it takes about 3 turns to get it to just 5 amps this is of some concern to me.
Once the Pot is turned to half turn or just past it seems to behave as normal again. Any ideas ?.

Peter

Replace the pot as soon as possible would be my advice.

Hi Pedro,
It is just a fact of life really, I have bought some stuff from China which is so good it will out-live me, yet I have also bought stuff which is just junk and not worth keeping. It is hard to tell exactly what quality you will receive when ordering things from China but the price is so good that we take the chance.
China imported laser machines are built to a price and they do not yet (in my opinion) have the same levels of quality control that, for example German manufactured machines have, if the Chinese manufacturer can source a cheaper pot then he will, regardless of quality.
Just my opinion but it will not stop me buying stuff from China.

Hi Peter,
mine failed the other week, stuck on full power machine is only 3 months old.
You can test the resistance by putting a multi meter across the back of it, 5 minute job to pull the old one and solder a new one in HPC shipped one for next day delivery
