Sharing cutting capabilities

Hi!
I am really contemplating buying a laser cutter of my own. I work at an engineering company and we need quite a lot of cutting services but the lead times fluctuate quite badly. But I don't want it to sit idle for most of the time.
Any good ideas on where to find some customers or how to share the machinery? Maybe buy it between several companies? Another thing I've considered is applying to participate as a manufacturer on a site like this https://fractory.com/. Maybe someone has experience with this kind of stuff?
