Laser pointer not working

Hi hope I've done this right. My laser pointer started playing up. As it moved across the bed it would go on and off. Now it stays off. I cut a bit of wire off tested it and it worked. I went to connect it up again and thought I would double check it was working and it didn't now pointer won't work at all. Any suggestions please.

One is red the other is black so that bit was OK lol

I appreciate you trying, I even doubted myself and checked lo iml not reallyet sure what else to try

Strangely enough had the same problem this week. Found the black wire broken. it was about half way along inside the plastic chain link. Could the the same problem.

You are right I have replaced both wires from before before the chain and now my pointer works perfectly. Was a little nervous cutting the wires incase I screwed it up lol. Thank you for your reply is yours working now too?

Glad you got it sorted. Yep mine is working now as well.
