Hi Tom, no i'm not leaving spaces etc when save as. The stand alone manager shows no files although there are files still stored in the lasers memory!

OK - so the problem to solve first is the communication. Lasercut processes the files locally then downloads to the machine.

On the PC you are using (Windows 7?) can you control the laser from LaserCut as in move the head from the software? Do you get any errors when you turn the laser machine on? Are there any exclamations in the device manager with the laser on? Can you try another USB lead?

You could also try saving (Export file) the job to a usb stick and plug that direct into the laser.

Cheers

Hi Dave, I haven't tried controlling the machine from the laser software as i'm unfamiliar with this however I will give it a go. There are no issues ( exclamation mark's etc ) within the device manager. I was going to try the direct usb option but was put off because Simon from HPC said this can sometimes cause problems in-itself? I assume the usb lead is ok as it works fine when my laptop is hooked up to the laser.

I think it is best to see if you can sort out the communication problem then - when you first connected the laser and it asked for the drivers did you have any issues? Is the usb port on the pc ok with other jobs? Can you still communicate with the laser from the original machine?

I don't know of any issues using a USB other than if it is over a certain size (use a 1 or 2 gig stick). I have used one a couple of time with no issues ;)

Best
