If your 3020 cuts acrylic and paper ok and not laser ply and mdf
i would be looking at the the wood , where did it come from is the mdf laserable
Have you rung hpc and ask for some settings
The acrylic is a good thing too test on as it is quite constant

You won't be able to cut 6mm ply or mdf on the 3020 really well - you will need better air assist at least and good clean and aligned mirrors - even good extraction.

I will only cut up to 6mm on my 3060 with a 60w tube and that is using the best available Ply.

Thanks, the manual has hardboard and MDF. Not had time to tweak the settings variable from the manual, yet. The acrylic is very good quality but for 200 clocks in school, expensive ! The clocks are just smaller than a DVD disk but would much cheaper in thin MDF. Need to try thin MDF.

Just researching, looks like 'medite' is the de facto laser MDF product, cheap too.

3mm medite is the thinnest that is readily available.

Take care to store it flat, so it lays flat in the machine ... it becomes "unflat" very easily
