Quick Tip / Mirror Chamber Bubbles

Post by Spooky »

The right side of your tube where the mirror is can be the biggest cause of new tubes / breakdowns due to dead tubes. Even small bubbles can cause hot spots on the mirror leading to cracking.

The cover on that side is designed to be removed for fitting a bigger / more powerful tube (on the 6840 so you can fit a 60 watt tube) but if your using the std tube this is just a cover made of metal / blanking plate.

Find attached a simple drawing so that you can cut that panel out of 3mm acrylic giving ready visual access to the bubble chamber so you can visually keep a watch for bubbles in this critical area.

Warning!!

Modification of Guards / Panels can lead to:
Loss of warranty,(written, implied or other unknown)
Potential problems with the factories inspector,
Risk of laser radiation escaping into the work environment,

Other unknown or undisclosed problems, be sure to consider this before removing panels or replacing them.

best wishes
