Hi folks!
I'm new to the forums and have read through quite a number of posts, though can't find what I'm looking for.
Fingers crossed one of you fine laser people may be a font of knowledge!
Our machine is the LS3060 Pro.
My question is, can you engrave metal, magnesium for example, to be used on a hot foil press? It seems these are made by coating the surface in a liquid solution, and an etching machine creates a negative die that can then be used to stamp foil imprints onto card, which is ideally what we're hoping to do for our wedding stationery business.
Anyone know if that's even possible with a laser engraver?
Huge thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.
Dave
Engraving metal for Hot Foil press
Re: Engraving metal for Hot Foil press
Hi Dave - you can't engrave as such with a 3060 but yes you can get a liquid called CerMark LMM6000 - there may be other makes as well.
Not sure if it is ok for you application to be honest
Best
