psu clicking

Post by ncamacho2000 »

Hi all

I have a 2008 6040 and noticed some banding on an engraving and then the PSU started cicking when i ramped up the power, i have since noticed some arcing inside the unit near the negative wire and turned it off straight away.

I have had banding issues before but HPC changed the tube and seemed to go away, does anyone know if a faulty PSU could be cooking my tubes too???

Thanks in advance

Nigel (why do these things always seem to happen when you have loads on?)

1st of all, check all the wire connections are good and tight - if you are comfortable doing that ?
If not, get someone else to have a look.
The transformer output can remain charged for quite a wile after it is switched off
