engraving

Post by jacs555 »

Hi, I'm new to the forum... Hi everyone!! :D
Everything is sweet with the laser machine until something goes wrong! The mentality of 'if it doesn't work, hit it' is so close!! Been using my machine 12 months and have had few problems and can pretty much sort them. however.... I'm trying to engrave a plaque and it's engraving a mm out and sloping. The only way I've previously aligned them is by the top line of the tray. (not sure this is even correct, but never had a problem ). There's a bit of movement on the tray but tried it a few times and its still not straight. I'm a woman. technical isn't really my thing and I could really do with a bit of guidance.... before I turn to alcohol!! Many thanks

What machine?

If the image is being engraved out of true (the sides are sloped rather than square) it could be the belts/head - have you cleaned the runner and lubricated recently?
