laser pauses itself

Post by exengrav »

Help !! Any job that I send to the laser seems fine, then the laser stops abruptly, the message on the keypad reading 'paused, press start to continue'. No pressing of any button can get you out of this. You can only turn the machine off and try again, but the same happens. I have tried downloading configuration, reinstalling software and driver, all to no avail. Any ideas anybody ?

Are you starting with a fresh file? Saved files can hide all sorts of problems!

Yes, delete all at download tab and try any file, the same happens. I tried it off another pc, to eliminate that, and the same happens.

Even drawing a simple square using the program and not importing any dxfs? If so, have you got the correct software for the machine?

I will try this tomorrow, but the problem occurs with both imported dxf's and bitmaps, which have worked perfectly for years. This is an old machine, on lasercut 5.0. What is likely to malfunction through old age ? ( apart from the owner ! )
Issues earlier this week were solved by downloading the configuration files, on the advice of Chris. I had just told him that all was now well - me and my big mouth !
