LaserCut 6.1

Post by tilltots »

I've seen a couple of posts on the internet (I know don't believe anything you read etc) that there is an updated version of the LaserCut software out there in the wild.

Apparently it's more stable and doesn't require a dongle \o/

Has anybody used it?

Is it any better?

Will it work with the controllers in an LS3060?

I think it is tied to the controller but from what I hear it is not a lot better just yet!

Have seen it, nowt really dramatic to be honest and goes with the 6565 card (don't know if it's backwards compatible)

The version I had for test did have a dongle but I'm not sure if the commercial versions do.

I don't like change

The only thing I'd really like is a few keyboard shortcuts for rotate, split line etc.

Easily configurable keyboard shortcuts and less crashing would be most welcome :-)

Yeah the occasional crash has caused me to save more often, actually there is only one main crash I get and that's when I change a cut/engrave parameter while another layer is hidden. Not always but kick myself for not saving before I attempt it.

From what I've read 6.1 doesn't use ECP files either.

Not sure about the latest version but the one I tried didn't, it's also not backwards compatible either :(
