Yes, I've experienced exactly this glitch time and again, but I'm not sure that the problem is with Laserscript.
As far as I can see, the software inside the controller boards uses a weak check, possibly just the filename (or file size?) to judge whether a file has changed or not.
I make it a habit to delete the old version from the laser every single time.
All the best,
James

Re: Annoying LaserCut 5.3 glitch
Had this problem today also. I always delete the previous file. Having corrected an error in the drawing i uploaded the amended file and the machine cut the old file! Got there in the end though but it does happen every now and again.

Not sure if this might be related to the problem...
The controller board (so presumably LaserCut itself) only recognises the ancient DOS file-naming standard - only allowed 8 upper case characters for the file name, followed by the 'dot' and file type. Names that don't fit that pattern will be abbreviated and turned into upper case - e.g. "My_file_with_a_long_name.ecp" may become "MY_FILE~.ECP". This used to catch me out a lot - it's easy to think that you have given a file a unique name, only to find that the machine gets confused because the abbreviated version comes out looking the same!
