Hadnt thought about it too much until today due to the new setup I am working with, but when i opened the lid after a 45 minute engraving job I was greeted by a physical cloud of dust, and noticed how dusty the inside of the machine was, and the fumes are becoming unbearable, clearly we have a fan problem here! The extraction box on the floor is still apparently working, as is the tube going outside - still noisy and all seems well. So i am guessing the first tube from machine to middle box is not sucking. Please help if you have experienced this before or if you know of any fault finding i can. Pretty desperate as Mothers Day orders are buiding up. I will also ring HPC as soon as they open in the morning as this is seemingly a problem since the relocation of the machine.

Hi I have an LS6040 which was relocated by HPC from our house to an office conversion a couple of weeks ago. I didnt really use it over half term but have used it intensely since Monday and have noticed the exhaust fumes are quite strong/intense.

Re: LS6040
Dust can build up on the fan blades or even clog the mesh filters in the fan. The fan still makes a noise, but doesn't flow much air. This tends to happen gradually so you don't notice the reduced flow. When you clean it, the difference can be dramatic !

Yup, the first I can usually tell on mine is sneezing, irritated nose, and a smoky environment. MDF is far worse than acrylic. Make sure you scrape off all the residue, and a good clean out of the fan would not go amiss.
