Cutting order in Lasercut 5.3

Hello all,
I'm trying to optimise the cutting route of a design I'm cutting but even though I change the order via the dialog box it seems to have no effect on the actual cutting order when it gets to the machine. Has anyone else had any success with this?

In case it's relevant I'm currently transferring the .mol file to the laser cutter via USB Flash drive, not via direct USB connection. The machine is a 1290.

Any help appreciated!
