slight wobble

Post by CamG »

hi folks,

my machine has very recently developed a very small wobble that's noticeable when engraving, the line wiggles ever so slightly when scanning horizontally on the table. It's only fractions of a millimetre but it messes up the look of some of my designs. I've noticed that the mounting for the final mirror/lens arrangement moves very slightly if jiggled (slight rock from back to front). On inspection is seems that either the bearings are worn, the nylon wheels on them are not fitting as tightly as they used to or something has come slightly loose in this part of the machine. Has anyone had a similar issue or can anyone give me any pointers on how I might fix this? Are there any screws I can tighten/adjust to correct this kind of wobble or is it likely to be new bearing/wheel time?

Thanks

The plastic rollers Cam?

Cheap to replace and a lot easier than fiddling trying to take up slack . sometimes belt tension will cause the same problems or too much speed.

cheers

3020? They can be adjusted with the screw that holds them (offset centre) but as Dave said - cheap to replace if they have done a lot of work ;) Mine always had a little bit of slack - but only .5mm at a guess.
