Re: engraving quility not consistent

This is what I have for mirror adjustment, I dont really understand how its meant to work. you basically end up fine tuning against a taught screw. which is why I think I am having problems

This is the new "modified by me" style, a couple springs, new screw makes all the difference. Adjustments are super easy
I still want to change the adjusting screws for longer screws to make it easier to lock off.
I will probably do something similar with mirror 2 too.

Hiya Mike,

I see what you mean now, your modified design now works the same as my 6840 system, the original method seems a bit heath robinson to be honest. In the original the adjustment is going to go mad due to, as you noted, adjusting against the screw pressures.
I wonder if Chris could do a Mod-kit like your version?
Good to know you got it sorted though :)

best wishes

Dave

ha, I though my solution was a bit heath robinson :)

For my other mirrors I am going to get correct size screws and springs so that I dont have to redrill anything.
But yes an upgrade kit would be good, though the newer machines may have this already.
I think I got the last one of the last batch.

Cheers

Michael
