Re: hi from szaxe
Hiya Szaxe Well you started on the right choice by coming here :) What are you planning on doing? a router may be a better option depending what the project is? Noise will always be an issue, even with a laser (but they are one hell of a lot less noisy than a router for sure) Fume containment isn't ...

You have to add the laser to the card to get a shipping estimate but at least you don't have to register like some site to get a price! We as happy customers tend to be defensive on HPC's part which should really only be taken as a compliment to HPC. Most of us have been in your situation and as ha...

Re: Fire :(
Once a year that's terrible no it isn't ??? I keep it clean all year round, but it gets a full service once a year ! Under the honeycomb gets all sticky .. I've tried lots of ways to get it all of, but I've found a blow torch or heat gun makes light work of it. I know MDF will burn well once it's c...

Re: Fire :(
The problem with fire sensors is the way they work, they either sense IR from the flame source or heat, both of which happen in a laser machine anyways
Best way to avoid fires? watch the machine..hence the big warning stickers on them

If by support you mean how long can you call them up and get help with a question or problem? I'd say about 7 years based on experience
Warranty and support are different things though, you would need to check with HPC direct to find out about the first one.

Re: Blurry engraving help please
Anodic coatings on non military or industrial items changes a LOT. does the surface feel smooth after engraving? Scan gap is too small, try 0.05 - 0.1 or you will be pumping too much power into a small area. Those figures I've seen so far suggest you may well be removing the coating rather than blea...

Re: Blurry engraving help please
Try higher speed Nikki, , 350 sounds more like the sort of number. What scan gap do you have set? You are trying to leech the colour not remove the anodic coating, if the anodise varies (as it usually does) hitting it too high a power and too low a speed will cause unpredictable results cheers Dave
