Re: Newb alert - Difference in spec LS3050 & LS3060

All current DC fired Glass Tubes are water cooled Lee. :) it's only RF etc that are air cooled under a certain power. HPC machines are as standard DC glass tubes, Chris and the guys *can* fit RF metal tubes on request but as a rule they usually recommend against it (as do I) due to the huge costs fo...

Also any free cutting files that I can experiment with Log in over on our site and the downloads section has some free stuff for download. http://oplaser.co.uk/opsupport/ no adverts or costs or anything like that. The largest part of the users there have HPC machines and are very happy with them :)

Re: laser not firing straight away

Iffy door switch...if the lid gets banged down by accident it can displace the switch leaving just on the make or break point.

Re: Cutting White Card

Drop the power and increase the speed, sooting up is often a sign of too much power getting into the materials although some types of card can be a nightmare to cut given the chalk content :(

Re: LS6040

Drawing scaling, Techsoft2D isn't one of the better programs to use with a laser as the setup if it's set to inches on the templates will resample the drawings when they hit the laser. If you want to ping me the dxf (my email is below) I'll measure it up in AutoCAD and let you know what the sizes it...

Re: Think I'm going to go mad soon..

60 watt when it's settled down should do 3mm acrylic at 22 speed / 80/85 power reliably. The bed issue will be focus, the beds are good but not optically flat and the further from the tube you get the less power you will have available. Acrylic can be cut a lot quicker but reliability can be an issu...

Re: Head hits side

I've seen it before but never found out what causes it, some of the time it will be a drawing down on a cheap package that has a Z depth (it sends the motors crazy) but as yet I can't seem to find a definitive answer other than that.

(check the bed cutting area in the settings, should be 670 x 390)
