recently been trying to cut laser ply and have been told to put masking tape on first so as to avoid scoring the edge of the ply - but it keeps catching fire!!!! - does it need to be special masking tape - tried increasing speed but it doesn't cut through then any suggestions please?

the seperation of the lies seems like a good idea thanks
you can split the drawing but when you go to select individual lines it isn't possible - the software splits it into squares or whole shapes rather than individual lines.

Thanks for the responses

mirrored acrylic

just wondering do you need a special mirrored acrylic for cutting in a laser cutter?
Logic tells me it will reflect the laser beam if reflective side up

tried cutting some with reflective side down but it damages the reflective material and doesn't look good

Any advice

Just wandering if anyone has had a go at engraving pcb's with a laser cutter. we currently use the denford micro router with an engraving bit on copper clad board to do ours. With a laser cutter i'm sure we would be abl...
