Re: Cutting 10mm Acrylic - square

Yes the kerf is slanted in the same direction on all sides but some sides are worse than others. I can't find any reference on how to adjust the lens, I've made some progress this morning on re-focusing and adjusting the height (away from the material) and found that if I reduce the reccomended 41mm...

Cutting 10mm Acrylic - square

Right, this is not going so well. My cuts aren't lining up and my 10mm cut outs are slanted as hell. Making my box nets not fit together and also a real nightmare to make sure it's water tight. I have no idea how to 're adjust the angle of the laser'. Unless you're talking about lining up the mirror...

Re: Box maker

^_^

I design box nets all day like this. Don't show my boss, I'll be out of a job (or they'll find me something else to do)

Re: 10mm Acrylic

Ooh cheers for the heads up, I've just been cutting some box nets @ 10mm which is the biggest we've cut yet and specifically bought for the order. I did a few test cuts and different speeds. The best one turned out to be S4 P99 with a corner power of 8. It's not great but for a tessellated box that ...

Re: laser onto glass

Hey there, I've recently been etching a lot of electro plated glass for some experiments here at work. (and the odd wine bottles) We find that laying two layers of newspaper and wetting them until dripping works and keeps any residue off the glass. I find that wine bottles always come out well, I gu...

Re: Material Supplies

I'm just off to the pet shop to buy a canary and a cage I can keep near the laser! Bob hahahaha I have a very good warning system, in the form of a Health and Safety Nazi stomping up the corridoor if something smells too bad ;) Has anyone bought the HPC bundle? Do you get a good range? I was just a...
