Re: Newlydraw alternative?

There are solutions (mainly USA) but it means ripping out some of the electronics AFAIK as the controller is matched to the software. Search the internet for K40 upgrades - the K40 is a cheaper version of the 3020. I do not know anyone who has done it and to be honest I can't see the point as ND wor...

Re: Maximum File Sizes / Problems importing Illustrator Files

I don't know much about AI or Mac to be honest but if you import the PNG in LaserCut 5.3 and it is not 1 bit B&W then it should be ok.

Re: Maximum File Sizes / Problems importing Illustrator Files

No - I use it all the time. What you have to make sure is that it is not 1 bit B&W - open it in MS Paint, save and close is a quick easy way to fix that.

Re: No power to machine

Check the RCD on the back of the machine - reset if needs be.

The extractor not being on should not trigger the trip but plugging it in may have - at worse there could be a loose wire so check the power leads.

Re: laser bed mats?

Hi Rog, HPC sell the honeycomb beds - they are metal and still suffer from reflection. I use magnets to raise the material off the bed about 5mm - it seems to be the best way apart from using a pin bed which I also have (but no longer available). The black coating will help a little bit but space an...

Re: Maximum File Sizes / Problems importing Illustrator Files

Saving as PNG can help if it is B&W.

The other option is to convert it to DXF vector
