Re: Power settings.

I mostly use a honeycomb bed which the magnets hold to. The ply can then lay on another magnet placed on top in each corner (more if necessary) to hold it flat.

Re: download problem

You can't use dxf direct to the laser so import it to LaserCut and then download to the usb - it will download different files that contain the machine settings etc.

Re: download problem

So are you saving the work in LaserCut to a USB stick and then trying to load from the usb stick or are you saying LaserCut won't save to USB?

What version of Lasercut?

Re: Transferring files?

Delete all files - there is not a lot of memory so if a new file is large it can take it over the top! I do not store files on the laser, just the PC so got into the habit of clicking delete all. There is a bug in 5.3 that can also cut a previous version of a file that has been changed unless you ch...

Re: Transferring files?

Yes - from download, select download file and save to usb memory stick. To load just plug into machine slot on side and it will automatically look for and download the file.

Re: Power settings.

Make sure it is laserable - some plastics give off nasty fumes - PVC for example!

Personally I would advise against it - if nothing else it adds to the fire risk as plastics can start of with a very small area burning and spread quite quick (I know this to my own cost!).

Re: Laser power bench test

Yes clean mirrors and lens is important too - beam alignment can mean drop in power but mostly you would see it cutting well in one area and not as well in another. Use a bit of masking tape over the nozzle and do a quick burst to test to see if the beam is in the middle of the circle with the head ...

Re: Laser power bench test

Not 100% accurately as it can depend on various factors including the material you are comparing and how well set up the machine is. I have two 3060's both with 60w tubes around the same age by and large I would be able to cut 3mm clear acrylic at speed 20 to 22 at 64% power on both of them. Over th...
