Re: Engraving Autocad Annotation Text

The text in AutoCad is 'Hatched' - Using AutoCad you could 'explode' the text then try 'txtexp' in the command line area which should just leave the outline of the text.

Re: images not to scale

It is to do with the units used in Illustrator when exporting - they may not be set to mm. I don't use AI but see it all the time. I think there are a few answers if you google it ;)

Re: Easily Centre Designs

HI - I tend to draw a box the same size as the item being engraved but set it to zero power. Centre the plan in the middle of the box and then download but with the lid open use test and then start to line the item up. Use a jig if it is multiple items. Use offcuts to place over the item and run a t...

In the options box (where you set power etc) make sure the overlap is set to 0.05 - it can be used to leave a tab.

Knowing HPC if there was any danger they would change the design or modify. The beam will really only reflect off metals. My old lid perspex had small 'hits' - most likely coming off the honeycomb bed. Yes the beam can scatter but only in straight lines and more likely in an upward direction so the ...

Re: Using machine with doors open

Sorry - yes the pass through panels are fine, I thought you meant the lid as well ;)

Was a bit distracted watching mirror acrylic flame up a bit when reading

Just make sure no one will put hands in and don't stand right up close just in case of beam scatter.

Re: Water temperature

To a degree it can - keep below 21c - I run at 13c which seems to be a good point. Much colder and the risk of temp shock on the tune increases.
